中秋节的由来
Mid-Autumn Festival has a history of over 3,000 years, dating back to moon worship in the Shang Dynasty (1600–1046 BC). It’s such an important festival that many poems were written about it, stories and legends about the festival are widespread, and its origins have been guessed at and explained by generations of Chinese.
中秋节有三千多年历史，可以追溯到商代时对月亮的崇拜。因为中秋节的重要地位，历代诗人都会为中秋节写诗，关于中秋节的故事、传奇在民间广为流传，中秋节的起源也被历代中国人探究。
The term "Mid-Autumn" first appeared in the book Rites of Zhou (周礼), written in the Warring States Period (475–221 BC). But the term only related to the time and season; the festival didn't exist at that point.
“中秋”一词最早出现在战国时期《周礼》一书中，但是该词只和时间和季节有关，当时还没有中秋节。
In the Tang Dynasty (618–907 AD), it was popular to appreciate the moon. Many poets liked to create poems related to the moon when appreciating it. There is a legend that Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty visited the Moon Palace in his dream and heard a wonderful song.
唐代时赏月风靡，诗人在赏月之时佳作连连。据传，唐玄宗曾在梦中去往月宫并听到优美的歌声。
In the Northern Song Dynasty (960–1127 AD), the 15th day of the 8th lunar month was established as the "Mid-Autumn Festival".From then on, sacrificing to the moon was very popular, and has become a custom ever since.
北宋时期，农历八月十五才被正式确立为中秋节，从那以后，为月亮献祭盛行，从那以后便成为风俗。

There are some interesting legends about this festival. The most famous one is about Chang'e, a beautiful woman who takes elixir on the night of a full moon on August 15, flies off onto the moon and lives in the cold Moon Palace.

碧空如洗，圆月如盘。人们在尽情赏月之际，会情不自禁地想念远游在外、客居异乡的亲人。中国人历来把家人团圆、亲友团聚，共享天伦之乐看得极其珍贵，历来有“花好月圆人团聚”之谓。

In China，Mid-autumn Day is considered to be a symbol of family reunion.On this day，all the family members gather together at home to celebrate this special occasion.Last year，I could not celebrate the festival with my family because I was in university.However，this special day left a deep impression on me.
I still remember the atmosphere of that evening.All the students who could not go back home assembled in our classroom，having a party to celebrate this traditional festival.We tried our best to show our own enthusiasm.As an ethnic minority，I performed a peacock dance，which received warm applause.After the two-hour party，we went out to the playground and sat together to appreciate the moon because it is a tradition on Mid-autumn Day.We ate moon cakes， played cards，and listened to romantic poems recited by one of our classmates.In that harmonious atmosphere，nobody felt lonely or homesick even though we were far away from our homes.
Thanks to our classmates，I experienced such a colorful and interesting Mid-autumn Day at my university.Thus， I learned to value all the festivals I spent during my university life.

Mid-autumn Festival is a popular and important lunar harvest festival celebrated by Chinese people.The festival is held on the 15th day of the eighth month in the Chinese calendar.There are some traditions in this holiday.For example，people would have a big dinner with there families.After dinner，they often enjoy the full moon which is round and bright.The other tradition of mid-autumn festival is eating moon cake。Moon cake is the essential of that day，which means reunion.As time goes by，there are various kinds of moon cakes，but they are much more expensive than before.I like mid-autumn festival because my families will get together and have a big dinner on that day.

The Mid-Autumn Festival has all interesting history.Long ago in one of the dynasties of China there was a king who was very cruel to the people and did not manage the country well.The people were so angry that some brave ones suggested killing the king.So they wrote notes telling about the meeting place and time and put them into cakes.On the 15th day of the 8th lunar month every person was told to buy the cakes.When they ate them they discovered the notes.So they gathered together to make a sudden attack on the king.From then on the Chinese people celebrate on the 15th day of the 8th lunar month and eat "moon cakes" in memory of that important event.
When the Mid-Autumn Festival is near，shop windows are beautifully decorated.Many "moon cakes" are displayed for people to buy.People send presents such aswine，fruits and "moon cakes" to their friends and relatives.In the evening of the day，they have a feast.After the feast，they go out to the garden to look at the moon.The children run and laugh on the streets.
It is believed that the moon is at her brightest on this night.Many poems have been written about it，and poets are never tired of reading and writing such poems.In Chinese literature，the moon of the Mid Autumn Festival has been pared to a looking-glass，a jade rabbit，and so on.It seems that Chinese literature takes far more interest in the moon than in the sun.

I think Mid-Autumn Day is an old traditional festival in China.Everybody likes it because it's a family get-together.You see it is called"Mid-Autumn Day"，so it often es in September or October.It is on the 15th of the 8th of the lunar month.Now，let's say something about this interesting festival.
Firstly，I'd like to say something about the moon.I like it very much because I want to be an astronaut in the future.That day the moon is round，big，just like a beautiful plate hanging on the blue cloth.When I see the moon，I will remember the ancient myths——the godess Chang Er and her little rabbit are playing under the tree which Wu Gang grows.I will also think about Armstrong's first moonwalk.I will also miss the friends in Tai-wan island，in Macao and Chinese people who are abroad.I know they are missing us very much，too.
Secondly，I'll say something about the tradition on Mid-Autumn Day.Look!There's a big tree in a garden of a Chinese fami-ly.All the family members are sitting around a big table under the tree in the open air.They are eating the mooncakes and admiring the full moon in the sky.That is a family reunion dinner.The mooncakes and the moon represent the love from a family.I think this is one of the most valuable things in the world.
Thirdly，it is a very good opportunity to make three wishes on Mid-Autumn Day.My wishes are: the first，I，an astronaut in the future，would like to go to the moon one day，and stay with the sky and stars; the second，I hope every person in the world will stay with family,share love from the family forever; the third,I hope everybody's dream will e true.
That is the Mid-Autumn Day in my mind.I will always re-member: East or West,home is best.

Mid-Autumn Day，all the country is celebrating.The streets are full of people,the loves are holding each other tightily.Everyone has his day.However，I am lonely.No one to hold，no one to kiss，no one to talk!

Mid-autumn Day is a Chinese festival.It usually es in September or October.On that day we usually eat a big dinner and mooncakes.It is said "Hou Yi" missed his wife,so he made mooncakes.It looks like the moon.
